HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (October 12, 2016)—For National Dental Hygiene Month this October, United Concordia Dental and its participating dentists are giving children the opportunity to trade in their Halloween candy for a $10 gift card during the nationwide Toys for TreatsSM program, now through Nov. 11.
“While chocolate, candy and other sugary treats are acceptable in moderation and with good oral hygiene, Halloween is a time of year when kids and parents alike indulge on sweets that can damage tooth enamel,” said James Bramson, D.D.S., chief dental officer at United Concordia. “Our goal with the Toys for TreatsSM program is to reduce the amount of candy children consume, while giving them a chance to learn that healthy choices can lead to better rewards.”
More than 30 participating offices will present a $10 Toys R Us gift card to the first 20 patients, age 12 years and under, who turn in their Halloween candy to their offices by Nov. 11. Program participants include:
